SOS Hair Static!

Tired of static in your hair? Don't know what to do? Here are some tips and products to help you control this unwanted effect.

Winter: an enemy for your hair

As soon as the heat is turned on, static becomes a real nightmare. There's no magic solution, but there are several tricks you can use to limit this phenomenon and keep your hair more manageable.

1. Choose the right shampoo

Highly detergent shampoos, such as those for volume or oily scalps, tend to dry out the hair fiber, thus promoting static. It's best to opt for a gentle, sulfate-free, and as natural shampoo as possible. Many brands now offer formulas that respect the hair fiber.

2. Don't neglect conditioner

Many people avoid conditioner for fear of weighing their hair down. However, this treatment is essential: it seals the hair cuticle, thus maintaining moisture and reducing static. There are even conditioners designed for fine, voluminous hair that won't weigh it down.

3. Limit the use of the dryer

Hot air dries hair even more, increasing static electricity. If you can't avoid using a blow dryer, apply a moisturizing mousse or serum, as well as a good heat protectant. Then, set your hair dryer to a warm temperature to minimize damage.

4. Choose your brush carefully

Nylon brushes tend to aggravate static. It's better to choose a boar bristle brush, which tames hair while adding shine and softness.

5. Use suitable styling products

Some products are specially designed to combat static:

  • Shine vinegar : applied in the shower after conditioner, it closes the hair cuticles to retain moisture and provide intense shine.
  • Anti-frizz spray : ideal for preventing static electricity, it is applied to damp hair before styling.
  • Anti-frizz sheets : Convenient to take on the go, they instantly eliminate static by passing the sheet over your hair.

6. Tips for taming static

✔️ Apply a mousse or serum before drying.
✔️ Spray a little hairspray on a brush before styling.
✔️ Use a fixing spray as a finishing touch to create a protective barrier and lock in hair moisture.

With these tips, you can finally say goodbye to static and keep your hair manageable and shiny, even in winter!
